First post:  I've been trying to think of some awesome first topic as a first post, but then it hit me I had been thinking about it for three days....that's when I decided I was a complete dork. So instead of some "hemingwayesque" (real word...) novelette I figured I would just explain my blog.

It's actually a brainchild of my girlfriend, who is terrified of cyber criminals, therefore she will remain unnamed.  Apparently, even though she is there when most of these events that I'm going to write about occur she has to have them for documentation.

BUT my true NUMBER ONE REASON for writing a blog is that I have a bone chilling fear that I will get a bad case of amnesia and this puny little blog will be the only link I have with my past.  Kind of like a 50 first dates moment, except without the waffle log cabins.....

Anyway, my blog, the title refers to an opening move in chess that involves...the Bishop.  It works nicely as well because the definition of a gambit not only refers to an opening chess move but it is also defined as an opening comment to start conversation, which fits in well for a blog.
The panoramic is one of my pride and joy pictures.  I took it on my trip out west last summer and I have a copy of it hanging in my bedroom.
The slideshow on the right is comprised of pictures i have taken. I need to update them, will I get around to it ....maybe
The poem below is Invictus. We read it many moons ago in high school and I had forgotten about until I saw the movie that shares the name. I think it's very inspiring and you should to.  If you don't, quit reading my blog because you wont like it.  Damn right.... go Amerrrika

I forgot two very important things.
1. Football starts in 14 days.
2. I just saw natural selection at it's finest: Two girls were walking down the street as I drove by. I saw two boys (def. not men) on bikes riding their way.  BTW they had helmets on... I think that says enough to get my point across.....
